Jabari Hoyte, OTR
As an avid believer in saying yes to opportunity, Jabari left his home in Brooklyn, New York, in 2017 in pursuit of his doctoral degree in occupational therapy from West Coast University in Los Angeles, California. During his time there, he was awarded the opportunity to have a clinical rotation with the Dept. of Defense, working on the Fort Belvoir military base outside of Washington D.C. for several months, addressing various upper extremity ailments experienced by active duty soldiers, veterans, and family members. From there he traveled to Australia for his final clinical rotation, assessing and modifying the home environments of the geriatric population in rural towns to promote their independence and safety. Returning to the east coast after graduation, Jabari has focused his passion towards the service of adult clients in optimizing their function and daily activities within their homes and communities. He continues to be a life learner and still says yes to opportunity with intentions of one day furthering his skillset in becoming a certified aging in place specialist. Outside of work his favorite occupations are going to movie theaters, exploring cities, eating, and photography.
